Well, this is it. We are firing our guns into the air, loaded with our hopes, dreams, fears, worries, desires, pleasures, and other drugs. Thinking it will land anywhere, from a doorstep of an abandoned tech factory to a coward’s old coat closest. It seems these sounds, came from somewhere we want to explore more of. We are mystified and troubled by why we feel these things, or why we fall into the same self-destructive cycle, but we do know that we don’t know. We simply don’t know. But to hell with it, am I right fellow humans? Ah yes, humanism. It is changing rapidly and getting increasingly difficult to feel what is human when your only interaction socially is online. On a screen, people you’ll never meet, whom are probably aren’t who they say they are. You cannot be disgusted at them, because you are doing the exact same thing. Being someone who you’re not online, we are doing that right now with this little shin-dig we’re posting. Who cares though. But we do not enjoy this lifestyle, this constant paranoia of trying to decipher who is “human enough to gain my trust” when in reality, we have trouble trusting people IRL Gamer Style. We also rarely, if ever, make an attempt at engaging other people face-to-face if we do not already know them. We (Catered To Care) are the only ones we have left in our lives that we can fully trust. We’re told we should open up more often; by friends, family, therapists, gas station clerks, and old men at record stores. But it’s strenuous to explain this to other people when we have no answers because, again, we simply don’t know why we feel these emotions and think these irrational thoughts. Maybe that is why this project was birthed? This collective was meant to happen. So we can explore these topics without explanation and consequence since everyone wants an answer from us now. Because it is quite cathartic, to be honest: letting all pour it naturally into a sound ecosystem for all to hear!
Anyways, we better start getting dressed for work. Our alarms keep going off simultaneously, driving us mad. We hope one day we can break these devices with a hammer and dig through the wreckage, looking for scrap copper for our next fix.
We love you, we hope you find this release somehow. If you do find it, mass email it to your friends and colleges, keep the family out of this.
